There are a few reasons digital wallets such as Google Pay or Samsung Pay are not working at
- ATMs
- Stores
- Transit systems
- Anywhere the universal contactless symbol is available.
The following are some explanations:
- NFC (Near Field Communication) and Payment option is disabled on the mobile device.
- Some Apps such as Omron Connect featuring EKG devices, will also disable the NFC and Payment option on the mobile device.
- Make sure the desired digital wallet is the default payment app on the mobile device. Perhaps, Samsung Pay is the default payment app, instead of Google Pay, and vice versa.
- Make sure “Airplane mode” is disabled.
- Make sure the digital wallet is-up-to date with latest update from the Google Play Store
- Make sure mobile device is updated with the latest software update from the manufacturer.
How to active the NFC and Payment option on the mobile device?
- Open “Settings” on the mobile device
- Tap on “Connections” (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, Data Usage)
- Scroll down and enable the “NFC and Payment” option
How to check for the latest software update for the mobile device from the manufacturer?
- Open “Settings” on the mobile device
- Scroll down and tap on “Software update”
- Tap on “Download and Install”
Tip: To ensure the mobile device is always up-to-date, enable the option “Auto download over Wi-Fi”.
